Beim Quilten war immer das von Hand nähen meine große Leidenschaft. Needle Turn Appliqué und Handquilting mochte ich immer am liebsten. Leider kann ich nicht mehr so viel davon machen. Gestern sah ich in einer Ausgabe der Love Patchwork & Quilting Nr.57 ein Bild von einem Miniquilt und bewunderte die Farben, Muster und Formen. Und dachte mir, dass ich das doch genauso gut mal malen könnte. Gedacht, getan 🙂
The thing I enjoy most when it comes to patchwork is hand sewing, needle turn appliqué and hand quilting. Sadly I am not able to do a lot of that anymore. I was in awe of the colors, pattern and structure of a mini quilt that I saw in a magazine the other day. Yesterday I dedicated to try and paint it. 🙂
Das hat wirklich Spaß gemacht. Das Farben mischen, das möglichst korrekte anmalen der Formen, das Muster der Stoffe und die angedeuteten Quiltlinien darstellen… eine Geduldsarbeit wie das Nähen von Hand!
That was quite fun! Mixing the colors, trying to paint very exact forms and to imitate the pattern of the fabric, the lightly drawn quilting lines… a work of love just like sewing by hand!
Bei künftigen Versuchen möchte ich versuchen, die Struktur eines Quilts mit den verschiedenen Stoffen und Nähten noch besser darzustellen
In future projects I want to be better at imitating the different structure of the fabrics, the seams and so on.
